How Mindful Eating Helps Weight Loss

Life is stimulating and so fast these days. We seem permanently attached to our smartphones. We can have what we want at the click of a button, and often with next day delivery. We have less patience; there just seems to be so much to do and so many choices. So easy to understand how we are now so easily distracted and always rushed.

In fact, experts believe that this culture of impatience and instant gratification is adding to our heightening anxiety levels and, worse still, that it’s affecting our health. So, with this in mind, we are encouraging our clients (and regular readers) to slow down and to start noticing what they are doing, particularly when it comes to eating.

Why?

Because this approach not only helps us to consume less, but it also settles our minds, allowing us to be in the ‘here and now’ so that we can actually savour our food and feel satisfied. Slowing down is the best way to recharge our minds and bodies, whilst simultaneously helping us to get in tune with our real appetite and hunger. Better still, we know it works.
