Every day we read and hear stories of celebrities and mostly, they just float on by. This week though, I was stopped dead in my tracks by a seemingly innocent throwaway comment by the well-known comedian Alan Carr.
Alan was quoted in most of the red tops – the tabloid newspapers – about a new weight loss wonder drug he’d like to try so that he could shift his banana-bread-induced 3 stone Covid weight gain.
Like most tabloid reporting, you only get the bare bones of the facts and this weight loss story was no different.
Over a socially distanced cup of coffee with my colleagues at work, we all agreed that we should set the record straight with regard to how this new drug was being reported.
I put pen to paper and wrote a letter of sorts to Alan Carr, and I recorded a video from that letter. You can watch it here.
Two significant points:
1. If you are a client of Motivation, you know there is no such thing as a quick-fix pill for weight loss.
Understand the WHY is key and from that, life changes for the better in so many ways. As you know, significant weight loss happens as well.
2. If you are one of the many non-clients that read our weekly newsletter, a warm welcome as always.
Be alert.
During this prolonged lockdown, there is any number of companies (large and small) and scam artists looking to make some easy money by peddling wonder treatments for all sorts of ailments, weight loss among them.
Wonder drugs or quick-fix pills for weight loss.
They do not exist.
It’s like waiting for the cat to bark.
This Week’s Recipe – Tuna Nicoise Salad Protein Pots
These tuna nicoise salad protein pots are a great on the go option and are handy if you want to prepare food for the next day. They would make a great picnic lunch and are packed with 30g of protein so super filling too.
The green beans are a good source of fiber, potassium, and folate, and are an excellent source of protein, iron, and zinc. They contain anti-oxidants similar to those found in green tea, also known as catechins, which have been found can help improve heart health and help manage diabetes.
