The weight loss process starts in your mind.
Changing your thoughts is vital. Dieting without challenging and replacing irrational or negative belief systems will give only temporary results. The weight will eventually return. Developing the right mind-set for long term weight loss is the most important step for permanent changes and a happy fulfilled life.
What Is Negative Self-Talk?
Negative self-talk is when you use statements like, “I should lose weight or I should get started on my diet”. These types of statements usually don’t work.
In fact, they often make you feel resentful, guilty and prevent you from getting started with your weight control plan.
Switching To Positive Self-Talk
It’s only words but they are powerful and can be life changing. The choice is yours.
Change your new self-talk to a more positive approach such as:
“I choose to be slim, healthy, energetic and attractive and I know that what I weigh and how I feel is entirely up to me”.
This positive self-talk is closely aligned to what I said on Day 1 of this How To Reduce The Threat Of Covid-19 series and that is persistence. Persistence or repetition – say it often enough and it will come to pass.
Read it again, “I choose to be slim, healthy, energetic and attractive and I know that what I weigh and how I feel is entirely up to me”.
Now repeat it and if you want to use these very words or change to something that sits better and more powerful with you, please do so.
